My goal with this action research plan is to identify the correlation between student progress and absenteeism and tardiness. As a result of findings I would like to identify strategies that could be used to promote student progress.

Your action research topic is highly aligned with issues we have on our campus. As a head's up: your research may need to explore beyond this school year as teacher reporting may rise and skew your results. Have you thought of possible intervention plans ahead of time. For example, what does the research suggests. I'm eager to follow your results and intervention plan!
Interesting topic Ashley. Being that I teach a few resource type Math classes and Co-teach in a few Algebra classes, issues of tardiness and absenteeism are very prevalent. No question, for those kids that fall into this kind of behavior their level of performance is below average. Until these students think it's important enough to be in class on time and even be there period, their academic performance will continue remain below the norm.
